Our leadership team reflects a group of individuals with breadth and depth of experience in building futures and saving lives.

Bertram currently serves as the President & CEO for the YMCA of Central New York headquartered in

Syracuse, NY; this $24.5 million Association impacts more than 40,000 people in the City of Syracuse and

Onondaga County via (8) Branches, (1) Camp sites and several program locations.


He is the former Chief Operating Officer for Mastery Charter Schools Network (Philadelphia, PA and

Camden, NJ), a $250M non-profit organization. In this role he oversees all aspects of non-instructional

school operations, school budgets, sports/extra-curricular programming, and student enrollment for

(24) campuses. Prior to this role, he was recruited by the Y in Central Maryland to serve as their Senior

Vice President of Operations providing leadership to (3) Health/Wellness centers, (20) Camping (Day &

Resident) locations, Youth Development, (20) Community Schools and Mentoring programs while

supervising two Vice Presidents and a District Executive Director. He had responsibility for $15M of the

organization’s budget and $4.6M in direct-ask/grant-based fundraising in this work portfolio. Under his

leadership, the Annual Campaign program was reestablished, the Druid Hill Y rebounded financially, and

he revamped the Advisory Board Member Development program.


Bertram has had an impressive 22-year Y career mostly in Philadelphia, with significant operational,

membership, grant delivery, partnership, fundraising and program experience. In Philadelphia he served

as Vice President of Operations supervising (9) Executive level Directors, (7) branches, leading the

Associations’ Youth Development, Camping and Diversity/Inclusion departments with responsibility for a

budget portfolio exceeding $32 million, including fundraising campaigns exceeding $1.4 million annually.

Under his leadership the Diversity/Inclusion department was established, the (5) branches in the city of

Philadelphia became financial sustainable and a new innovated branch was launched to provide services

in partnership with Project Home and Jefferson University Hospital.


He has serves on varies boards including CenterstateCEO Board of Directors, Onondaga County

Community College Foundation Board of Directors, Blueprint 15 Board of Directors, Community Rec

Magazine National Advisory Board, Core Health & Fitness National Advisory Board and YUSA National

Membership Standards Advisory Committee. Bertram is the Immediate Past National Chair for the Y-

USA’s African American Employee Resource Network (AARN). He is an active member of the Omega Psi

Phi Fraternity, Inc. where he was initiated via Beta Chapter in 1996.


He has a bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University in 1998 and is currently working towards an MBA

from Wilmington University. Bertram holds multiple Y-USA certifications, including Organizational

Leader. Bertram is a graduate of Y-USA’s Multicultural Executive Development Institute and C-Suite Next

Level Coaching Programs. Bertram is the father of four and a husband.

Raymond Curry has served as the Assistant Director of the Harcum College Upward Bound Program in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania for over ten years. Mr. Curry is responsible for the planning and coordinating of Upward Bound project activities ensuring compliance with U.S. Department of Education and project grant award guidelines. He has successfully strategized, developed, and implemented the educational, social, cultural and recreational activities of 80 high school student participants yearly. He oversees the budget and works along with the Director on raising and utilizing funds. 

Curry has been effective in developing relationships with local businesses and community organizations. He plans events with guest speakers for at-risk students and their families to help increase the students interest in achieving a higher education. Raymond has been able to organize and implement innovative educational/academic support services that ensure postsecondary success for low income, and first-generation college students.

Mr. Curry has been able to create an academic curriculum for summer programs and academic year components in collaboration with the Director and staff to stimulate a true college experience. Raymond has been able to successfully supervise instructional and summer residence staff, and has been responsible for interviewing all applicants for all full-time and part-time positions.

Raymond Curry was a full time administrator, educator, and coach for ten years in the Philadelphia area before becoming an Assistant Director. Curry has been acknowledged for being an outstanding STEM Lab Facilitator receiving the S.L.O.P.E. award for Outstanding Professional Experiences. Mr. Curry has also served his community as a Consultant/Coach for the Yeadon Educational Athletic Association. Raymond Curry is a proud graduate of Lincoln University where he received a Bachelors of Science degree, and has been an active member of Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. since 1995.

Roosevelt Gantt Sr. brings experience in raising funds for non-profit organizations that benefit inner-city youth. Roosevelt is the former fundraising vice-president for PS#20 in Jersey City New Jersey which has received state notoriety for their successful programs in supporting the youth and raising academic achievement. Mr. Gantt is an accomplished entrepreneur, property owner, and property manager. Roosevelt Gantt brings successful partnership and fundraising experience. Gantt holds a bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University, and he is an active member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. where he was initiated via Beta Chapter in 1995.

Jason Williams has been the athletic director at Southwestern Multi Plex High School for 5 years. During that time, he has developed young scholars into successful graduates who are successful young men. Prior to Southwestern, Coach Williams was the Athletic Director, Head Varsity Football coach, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field coach for Bluford Drew Jemison S.T.E.M Academy West (BDJ West). During his term as football coach, his teams were a competitive force in the 1 A North Division of Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association (MPSSAA). His Track program reached the State Championships every year during his tenure from 2011 to 2017.


Coach Williams is an originator. Before being selected as the Athletic Director at BDJ West, Williams was a Health& Physical Education Teacher at Empowerment Academy where he started and coach athletic program that brought the only Runner Up trophy in Baltimore City Public School System (BCPSS) Middle School Basketball league.


Before coming to Baltimore, Coach Williams was Athletic Director in the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) at The Hamilton Center, which serviced grades 6, 7 and 8. He started an athletic program that competed in Basketball, Bowling, Golf, Speed skating and Track & Field. Before Williams was embarked into the education world, his passion for football provided an opportunity to attend summer training with the Buffalo Bills 2001. Williams also played Defensive Specialist for Norfolk Nighthawks and Richmond Speed in the AFL2.

Williams throughout the years have not only held his own football skills camps but have also worked numerus camps with the NFL, Nike Pro, USA Football and Pro Camps that instruct correct fundamentals of the game of football. These camps range from instructing skills and fundamentals of the game to pushing the elite high school players of the game to the limits.


Coach Williams attended Delaware State University on a full football scholarship. During his time at Delaware State, he was a four year start where he collected All-Conference honors his last two seasons and the Coca Cola player of the year for the University. Williams obtained his Bachelor of Science and return years later to complete his Master of Science. Prior to Delaware State, Coach Williams was an All- State of Maryland football player as Quarterback, Kicker, Punter and Safety, where he led his team to a 13-1 finish and state of Maryland runner of trophy. Williams was an All- County player as well as an All- Metropolitan Player of the year his senior year. Williams was an All-State Track & Field star as well, competing in the High Hurdles, Intermediate Hurdles, High Jump, Triple Jump and numerous relays. 


Jason is married to Jodi Williams, Ph.D., and they have three children, Jasmin, Jason Jr. and Jordan. Coach Williams is a member of Ancient and Accepted Free Masons & Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. In his spare time, he enjoys, family, working with children & the community, riding his motorcycle, snowboarding and working on automobiles.

Andre L. Carr, Sr. is the CEO and Founder of IMPACT Youth Resource Group. Coach Carr has over 25 years of experience in education and coaching. Coach Carr spent 10 years in the classroom and coaching before entering leadership in 2009 as an assistant principal and educational associate. Andre has helped students earn a significant amount of academic and athletic scholarship money during his tenure inside and outside of the school systems he’s served. Coach has a proven record of helping at-risk youth find trade schools and career pathways that have allowed them to become successful young adults. Mr. Carr has a proven record of motivating at-risk youth, using academics and athletics to help children develop life skills and gain opportunities to acquire higher education and career pathway advancements. Coach Carr holds a bachelor's degree from Lincoln University and advanced degrees from Johns Hopkins University in Education Leadership and Curriculum Design. Andre is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
